Alternatively, you may want to take the walk up to Orrest Head – said to be one of the best viewpoints of Lake Windermere. On a clear day you are offered a 360° panorama, and you can even see as far as Morecambe Bay.
For a nice relaxing day out, why not consider taking a Lake Windermere Cruise? Offering cruises from 45 minutes to 3 hours, you can take a break or enjoy a day out – the choice is yours.
Nearby Kendal has a variety of great days out, including the Abbot Hall Art Gallery, Museum of Lakeland Life and Quaker Tapestry. Alternatively, in the other direction Bowness on Windermere offers the World of Beatrix Potter, Aquarium of the Lakes and Brockhole Visitor Centre.
