Obviously, The Lakes are renowned for their fantastic outdoor opportunities. The Lake District welcomes over 12 million visitors a year, mainly thanks to the fells, dales, mountains and villages which can all be explored in a number of ways. Notable areas of interest include the famous Scafell Pike, Borrowdale Valley and Cat Bells.

Keswick Town offers a number of great restaurants, takeaways and shops. As a popular tourist destination, Keswick caters well for outdoor enthusiasts, with many shops tailored towards walkers and climbers. On your short walk into town is the local supermarket, Booths, meaning you can easily stock up with any necessities.

The Keswick Theatre by the Lake offers not only drama on the stage, but a dramatic setting for the shows too. Set around Lake Derwentwater, this venue provides numerous shows to suit a variety of tastes.

One a year in the first week of June, the Keswick Beer Festival comes to town. This fundraising event attracts almost 6000 ale enthusiasts to sample local, regional and national ales. Tickets sell out fast so make sure you order early!

As well as views from the site, you may want to explore Lake Derwentwater more. You can take a ferry around the lake, the Keswick Launch Company gives amazing views of this magnificent lake, with a choice of seven stops at scenic places to enjoy.
