The most obvious thing to enjoy about this attractive area is simply the views. Walking in the Cotswolds is like nothing else. There are numerous sites for trails, but you can start your search here.

Sudeley Castle offers a fascinating insight into the lives of historical characters as well as blooming gardens. The castle is open from March to October and plays host to many events too – it is well worth a visit and is only 4 miles from the site.

The famous Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway is a preserved steam and diesel railway offering a nostalgic trip through the Cotswolds. The line offers great views of the hamlets and villages in this area, and has been restored completely by volunteers.

Hailes Abbey – This 13th Century Abbey famously held a renowned relic ‘the Holy Blood of Hailes’ – allegedly a phial of Christ’s blood. Now, it is more famed for its picturesque location in the Cotswold Countryside. The abbey is kept alive with audio tours and interpretation panels – maintained and managed by English Heritage and owned by the National Trust.

The world-class racecourse at Cheltenham offers varied days out throughout the year, with some of the best jump racing in the UK. Home to the National Hunt Race and the Gold Cup, this course also hosts many events throughout the year such as gigs and comedy events.

The holiday home site is close to many beautiful villages such as Broadway, Bourton-on-the-water and Tewkesbury – all offering local attractions including Elizabethan houses, museums and abbeys.
