Buying a lodge holiday home
Buying a holiday home will be one of the most exciting decisions you come to make, and rightly so. But how do you plough through all the information and find the right home, at the right site? Here are a few pointers to help you through the process.
Finding the right lodge location for you
The first major decision you will make is what area you want to be in. Make a list of what you ideally want from the site and surrounding area, this will stand you in good stead when you come to view. Take the time to explore not only the site, but the immediate area, after all – you’ll be spending a lot of time there. If you have the chance, try and speak to the existing residents on the site, they will give you a good idea of what there is to do and how they find the site.
Exclusive Lodges by The Camping and Caravanning Club offer smaller, peaceful developments in green areas. We do not offer some of the attractions such as on-site clubs and pubs, but these are all within easy reach should you want them. There is no restriction on the age of residents, and we try to make our ‘Friendly Club’ ethos extend across all of our Holiday Home Sites, from the welcoming staff to the atmosphere on site. Our lodges are generally in places where you couldn’t get planning permission for housing – on the edge of National Parks, in the middle of stunning countryside views or perched on the edge of a softly rippling lake.

Once you've found the perfect place
Contact Exclusive Lodges and our team of Area Sales Executives will be on hand to answer all of your questions. After listening to your needs we will be able to advise you of the perfect type of lodge to meet your individual requirements and give you the information you need to make an informed decision.
The Camping and Caravanning Club have not sold a site in our 110 year history – so you can be sure that a purchase from The Friendly Club will remain just that.
Getting the finance
If you already have the cash to buy your lodge holiday home you won’t need to worry, but if not, there’s plenty of help at hand. There are many lenders who specialise in the lodge holiday home market. In most cases you will still require a 20% deposit for your lodge, as most lenders will only lend up to 80% of the value of the lodge and this is likely to be lent over a maximum of 15 years.
The Camping and Caravanning Club are happy to help should you need assistance with finance and deal with a range of specialist companies who can help you to finance your lodge if needed.
To help assist in financing your lodge, Exclusive Lodges offer a managed lettings scheme so that you can earn money from your lodge when you are not using it.
Our managed lettings scheme is available at Boroughbridge, Rhandirmwyn, Theobolds Park and Winchcombe. We will arrange advertising, letting, cleaning and upkeep, taking away any stress associated with letting out your lodge. Contact us for more information about managed lettings.
And then...relax!
Once you’re all sorted, you can make the most of your lodge holiday home in a place that you love. Enjoy it!
