Accessibility

We are committed to ensuring the accessibility of our Lodges website to everyone and as such have designed this site using W3C guidelines.

W3C WAI-A WCAG 1.0

WCAG 1.0 has 14 guidelines that are general principles of accessible design. The Lodges Holiday Homes website aims to conform to these guidelines and has been built and developed with all of the Priority 1 checkpoints in mind. This enables us to display the WAI-A logo on our site.

See the checklist of these guidelines.

W3C XHTML 1.0

The Lodge Holiday Homes website aims to conform to the W3C XHTML 1.0 standard. Due to the large number of pages in the site we regularly check the site for XHTML compliance.

Why?

Alternate ways of accessing the Internet are constantly being introduced. By using XHTML guidelines our web pages will be viewable with a wide range of hardware using a variety of different browsers.

What are the benefits?

  • Smaller file sizes therefore our pages will load faster
  • Increased portability
  • Increased accessibility
  • Validation reports

Compliant pages all display the W3C XHTML 1.0 logo in the bottom left hand corner. You can check the validity of any of these pages at any time by clicking on the logo.
